Read till the last breath.

The impact of reading is immensely underrated. The echoing of jumbled up alphabets in your head not only takes you to a far fetched land, “the road less traveled” but there is much more to it. The circular designs show you an entire new world. A place where there are no Nos. We learn to accept, to question, to admire, to loathe in disgust and what not. A lot of importance has been given to reading since time being, but with the changing trends while some of are drawn to innovative ways of reading; some chose to remain orthodox booklover. The sad part is that one who dislikes reading or is uninterested in it will not even bother to read this article, but if they do, I hope they will admire this leisure pursuit.

We all have to study to achieve over dreams and aims but while studying showcases the theory of fallen apple, reading deals with fallen man. One might even feel alienated in a group if they are not well read. One might enjoy the sunshine once in a while but to feel the warmth with all your senses, cherish the experience, share it and be able to reciprocate it, is what we learn when we read. The fallen apple may aid an important calculation, but the Other kind of calculations are done while you read. It is always emphasized that we should make good friends with books, the floating reasons of which are there in front of us, the deep rooted still remain buried in the ground.

Reading not only enhances our knowledge but also gives wings to our imagination. Remember the last movie you watched that was adapted/inspired by a book. If you have read Dan Brown (or even Chetan Bhagat for that matter), you would be able to relate better. The same thing, when presented on large screen loses the purity and innocence of the text. Also, because everything is unraveled, not much is left to our imagination. The whole exercise of imagination, of painting a beautiful room or a woman or a flower in your mind comes to a standstill while watching a movie. A long-lasting experience is taken away from you when you watch a movie rather than read a book. The protagonist in your mind could have been better looking than that was in the movie, or the action

A literate person would accept the inventions and denounce everything that is beyond his logic, but a well read person would acknowledge and consider everything. The faith of a well read person is always stronger than an educated one. We believe because we question and even in our notion of rejecting a certain idea there is a consideration of existence of that particular thought. We do not discard something just because it doesn’t suit our mental taste; our rejection also has a spirit of endearment and acknowledgement.

Above all, reading does not only make us a better human but expands our world to show us what we might never see.
